A Sheffield Tradition Since 2004
For over two decades, Sheffield City Hall has hosted a vibrant Chinese New Year Gala founded by Mr Jerry Cheung, who has worked tirelessly to promote Chinese culture across the UK. The event has grown into a signature celebration, drawing thousands every year.
A Truly Cross-Cultural Celebration
The gala sells out annually, welcoming British-Chinese families, international students, and local residents who love Chinese culture. With long-standing support from Sheffield City Council and representatives from the Chinese Embassy and Consulates, it has become the city’s largest multicultural event.
A Night of Culture, Art and Festive Spirit
From traditional cuisine and calligraphy to a two-hour spectacle of music, dance, and acrobatics, the gala captures the full excitement of the Lunar New Year. Our aspiration is to ensure this cherished tradition continues to flourish, sharing the richness and vibrancy of Chinese culture for generations to come.
